You have nothing to lose but your chains sucky customer stories!

Several of us here have worked retail or are currently doing so. Need to vent? This is the place to do it!

The day I quit my job at Wal-Mart was a very good day indeed.  And I just walked out.  I'd simply had it.  Managers were okay, staff was okay, customers were stupid sheep, but I was just sick of it.  Fortunately, I had the support of my (then) wife, and within a couple of months, I had got my foot in the door into a professional environment.  It was one of the best decisions I ever made.

To this day though, it has taught me to be sympathetic to retail workers (much like my youth in restaurants and bars taught me to be sympathetic to those workers), though I also recognize incompetence and sloth (and thus become VERY unsympathetic).
